Selecting a band
What to expect
When and how do we pay?
A deposit is required to secure any band. Jazz Moods requests the
outstanding balance 2 weeks prior to the event so clients don't need
to worry on the event day itself.
Are there any other costs we should know about?
The price that you are quoted is all inclusive.
Does the price differ for mid-week bookings?
As all of our musicians are professional, prices cannot vary. National
holidays and special occasions like Christmas Eve/Day and New Year
will usually be more expensive.
The cost of hiring a live band.
As a general rule you get what you pay for, although you could be
lucky and stumble across a mid-priced semi-pro or amateur band who'll
be everything you'd expect, for less than you expect. If you don't
mind paying for your peace of mind and the very much better than evens
chance that the band you hire will be everything and more that you
are promised, then you should be ready to pay anything from £500 to
£5000 depending on the event criteria, the band's size and experience.
Consider this: a professional musician who is booked months in advance
for an event that is paying less than his usual fee, will be sorely
tempted to replace the booking with something better paid - even if
this means cancelling his agent's contract and paying a cancellation
